I can assist Simone in coping with the loss of her grandmother by surrounding her with her loved ones, assuring her that it’s not her fault and just actively listening to her.
I think Simone is in the third stage of grief; bargaining.
I can assist Simone by letting her know she should not blame herself for her grandmother’s death, she has the love and support of her family. She is in stage 2: Anger where she redirects the intense emotion of pain and express it through anger. She is trying to find out what justification exists for the pain. She seeks that justification through blame and anger since she got COVID first then her grandmother got it from her.
